Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. day old bread or other bread cubes
    4 c. milk, scalded
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 tsp. salt
    4 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 to 1 c. coarsely chopped pecans (if desired)
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In large bowl, soak bread in milk 5 minutes.
    Add sugar, butter, salt, eggs and vanilla; mix well. Stir in pecans.
    Pour into a 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
    Sprinkle with nutmeg.
    Place baking dish in pan of hot water in oven.
    Bake about 1 hour.
