Nut Brown Buttermilk Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    scant pinch of saffron (optional)
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1 egg
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. melted butter
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. coarsely chopped pecans
Preparation
    Combine dry ingredients; beat egg and add sugar.
    Mix well; stir in butter and buttermilk.
    Blend into dry ingredients quickly just until moistened.
    Add nuts.
    Pour batter into well-greased loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
    Cool on wire rack.
