Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe

2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. raisins
1 Tbsp. caraway seed
4 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. sugar
3 Tbsp. butter
2/3 c. milk
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Thoroughly grease a 9-inch cake pan or cast-iron skillet.
In a large bowl put flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
Mix.
Work in shortening as for pie dough.
Quickly stir in milk; add raisins and caraway seed.
Stir to distribute evenly.
Knead about 20 times on a floured surface (shape).
Bake 20 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
