Pineapple Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/3 c. butter or shortening
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg (unbeaten)
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. canned pineapple juice
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
6 maraschino cherries
5 slices pineapple
Preparation

Combine shortening, salt and vanilla.
Add sugar gradually and cream well.
Add eggs and beat thoroughly.
Add baking powder to flour and sift 3 times.
Add small amount of flour and pineapple juice.
Mix until smooth.
Grease iron skillet with butter. Sprinkle brown sugar over butter.
Arrange pineapple on sugar. Put cherries in center of the slices and pour batter over all. Bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.
Serve upside down with whipped cream.
