Ribs With Onion Sauce - cooking recipe

4 lb. country-style pork spareribs
2 c. sliced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp. salad oil
1/4 c. cider vinegar
1/4 c. chili sauce
3 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
Preparation

Roast ribs, meaty side down, in shallow roasting pan at 450\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
Drain off excess fat.
Turn ribs, meaty side up. Meanwhile, cook onion and garlic in hot oil until tender. Add remaining ingredients, 1/2 cup water and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt. Simmer 10 minutes.
Pour sauce over ribs.
Reduce oven temperature to 350\u00b0.
Bake ribs about 1 1/2 hours or until tender, basting occasionally, with sauce.
If sauce gets too thick, add more water.
Serves 4 to 6.
