Custard Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 egg yolks, well beaten
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 c. scalded milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Reserve whites of eggs.
    Mix thoroughly the cornstarch, sugar and salt.
    Add slowly to hot milk, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
    Cook in double boiler about 10 minutes.
    Blend a little of this mixture with egg yolks.
    Return to double boiler; stir and cook until eggs are set (2 minutes).
    Add vanilla; pour into cracker crust.
    Make a meringue of 3 stiffly beaten egg whites and 3 tablespoons granulated sugar.
    Spread on top of custard filling.
    Sprinkle with remaining graham cracker crumbs.
    Bake in slow oven (300\u00b0 to 325\u00b0) until lightly browned.
