Sugar Layer Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening;
    add
    egg and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and
    add
    to first mixture with milk. Divide between two greased
    and floured layer cake pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
