Black Pepper Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. shortening
    3/4 tsp. ground cloves
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/8 tsp. black pepper
    1 c. granulated sugar
    3/4 c. light brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 eggs
    1 c. sour milk
Preparation
    Sift together first 3 ingredients and set aside.
    Mix shortening, 3/4 teaspoon soda and spices until fluffy.
    Gradually blend in white and brown sugar and vanilla.
    Beat in eggs, one at a time.
    Add flour mixture and sour milk alternately.
    Turn batter into 3 well-greased, lightly floured 9-inch round cake pans. Bake in 375\u00b0 oven for 25 minutes.
    Cool 10 minutes.
