Empanadas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 3/4 c. flour
    1/2 c. butter
    2 egg yolks
    ham or stewed chicken or jam
    1 tsp. baking powder
    salt to taste
    cold water
Preparation
    Place flour on a board and gradually work in butter (reserving 1 tablespoon), egg yolks, salt and baking powder using water enough to produce a firm, but not sticky, dough.
    Shape dough into a ball. Cover with a cloth and allow to stand for 10 minutes.
    Roll out thin; spread with some of the reserved butter.
    Fold like a handkerchief and allow to stand another 10 minutes.
    Repeat this procedure once more.
    Roll out thin, cut into 30-inch rounds and place a little ham, chicken or jam on one half of each round. Moisten edges, fold over top half and press edges firmly together. Fry in deep oil.
