Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, broken
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 medium size onion, diced
    1/2 c. celery, diced
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. green peas, thawed but not cooked
    2 c. mayonnaise, mixed with 2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 (14 oz.) pkg. Cheddar cheese, grated
    6 or 8 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
Preparation
    In a large bowl, layer the first 8 ingredients in order given. Sprinkle top with Parmesan cheese.
    Cover; refrigerate for 24 hours.
