L.J.'S Pilaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick butter or margarine
    1 pkg. coiled vermicelli
    1 c. Minute rice
    1 c. beef consomme or bouillon
    1 envelope dried onion soup mix
    2 c. water
Preparation
    Cook onion soup in 2 cups of water for 10 minutes; set aside. Melt butter in a large skillet.
    Break up vermicelli and measure 2 cups.
    Brown vermicelli pieces in melted butter by stirring constantly over medium heat.
    Add 1 cup of Minute rice, consomme and onion soup.
    Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until all liquid is absorbed.
    May be made ahead and reheated in microwave.
    Goes well with grilled meat!
