Onion Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. bacon, diced (remove some fat)
raw onion rings from 2 very large sweet onions (grapefruit size)
1/2 c. butter
2 c. soda cracker crumbs
1 lb. Cheddar cheese (mild)
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 c. milk
salt and pepper
Preparation

Partially cook bacon pieces.
Remove.
Add onion rings to bacon fat.
Saute until soft.
Add onions to bacon.
Melt butter in a large casserole dish.
Add crumbs to butter; mix.
Pat mixture up sides of casserole dish and cover bottom.
Line with grated cheese.
Add bacon and onion mixture.
Combine eggs and milk.
Pour over all.
Season with salt and pepper.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 45 minutes.
