Linzer Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    3 eggs, separated
    1 lemon (rind and juice)
    1 Tbsp. brandy
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 lb. fine ground almonds
    2 c. flour, sifted 3 times
    12 oz. jam or preserves (preferably raspberry)
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add yolks, almonds and flavorings. Add flour and baking powder; mix well and fold in stiffly beaten whites.
    Roll out or pat 2/3 dough in greased and floured spring-form pan, having the dough thicker on the bottom than on the sides.
    Fill with jam or preserves.
    Roll out rest of dough; cut in strips and crisscross over top.
    Bake for 40 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven.
