Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. beef chuck roast
    2 medium onions
    1 lb. carrots
    16 oz. can tomatoes
    2 c. water
    1 Tbsp. basil
    1 tsp. black pepper
    5 medium potatoes
Preparation
    Cube beef and saute in small amount of oil.
    Place beef, sliced onions, carrots and tomatoes in a crock-pot.
    Add water and spices.
    Cook for 2 hours. Add potatoes that have been quartered. Continue cooking until tender.
