Malaysian Chicken Breast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 chicken breasts, skinned and boneless, sliced in 1/2-inch strips*
    4 garlic cloves, chopped
    4 bacon slices, fried and chopped
    4 oz. bamboo shoots
    8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
    2 oz. Pernod wine
    4 oz. peanut oil or sesame oil
    4 oz. sugar
    4 oz. chicken broth
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch, diluted with 1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Heat oil and saute chicken strips with garlic for 5 minutes. Add all other ingredients, except cornstarch.
    Bring to a boil and add cornstarch to thicken.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Serve over a bed of yellow rice.
