Macaroon Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 saltines, rolled
    3 egg whites
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    1/2 c. chopped dates
    1 tsp. almond flavoring
    1 tsp. baking powder
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until frothy and gradually add sugar until meringue stands in peaks.
    Fold in other ingredients.
    Pour into a 9-inch buttered and floured pie pan or spray with Pam.
    Cook 45 minutes in a 300\u00b0 oven.
    Cool and serve with whipped cream or Cool Whip.
