Banana Cake And Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    1 2/3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. soda
    1 1/4 c. bananas, mashed
    1/2 c. (2 large) eggs
    2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
    1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. buttermilk
    2/3 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Stir shortening, just to soften.
    Sift in dry ingredients. Add bananas and half the buttermilk. Mix until all flour is dampened, then beat vigorously for 2 minutes.
    Add remaining buttermilk and eggs. Beat 2 minutes longer.
    Fold in nuts. Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 30 to 35 minutes in two 9-inch layer pans.
