Chow-Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large heads cabbage
    6 medium onions, chopped
    10 green tomatoes
    7 green peppers
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. turmeric
    sugar
    salt
Preparation
    Boil first 5 ingredients; sprinkle with turmeric.
    Let boil again.
    Add sugar and salt to taste.
    Put in jars and seal.
