German Chocolate Caramel Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    14 oz. pkg. light caramels
    1/2 c. evaporated milk
    pkg. German chocolate cake mix
    3/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
    1/3 c. evaporated milk
    1 c. walnuts, chopped
    1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
    Combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in saucepan and heat over low heat until caramels are melted.
    Set aside.
    Mix by hand the cake mix, melted butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and walnuts.
    (Batter will be thick.) Spread 1/2 batter in greased 9 x 12-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 6 minutes.
    Sprinkle 1 cup chocolate chips over baked crust.
    Drizzle melted caramel over. Spread remaining batter over caramel.
    Return to oven and bake 15 to 18 minutes.
    Cool, refrigerate 30 minutes.
