Homemade Yeast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. boiling water (from potato water)
    2 medium size potatoes, peeled and boiled until tender
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 Tbsp. ginger
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 cake dry yeast
    cornmeal
Preparation
    Pour the boiling potato water over the flour, salt, ginger and sugar; mix.
    Then add potatoes, which have been mashed while hot. When this is lukewarm, add the cake of yeast, which has been soaked in a little lukewarm water.
    Let the mixture work about 18 hours in a warm place, then stir in cornmeal until the batter becomes thick enough to mold into cakes.
