German Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box chocolate cake mix
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. evaporated milk
    4 egg yolks
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 tall can coconut (7 oz.)
    1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Bake cake according to directions on package, using 2 (9-inch) round pans.
    Cool completely.
    Beat egg yolks slightly and pour into heavy 2 to 3-quart saucepan.
    Add sugar, butter, vanilla and milk.
    Stir together well; cook and stir over medium heat until thickened, about 10 to 12 minutes.
    To help thicken, you may add 2 to 3 tablespoons cornstarch.
    Add to ingredients before starting to cook.
    Remove from heat; add coconut and chopped pecans, stirring well to mix.
    Cool completely and spread between layers. Spread the rest over top and sides of cake.
