Date Nut Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 box dates (1/4 lb.), chop
    1/2 c. cream
    1/2 c. milk
    1 c. chopped nuts
    pinch of salt
    2 Tbsp. corn syrup
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugar, dates, cream, milk and salt in deep pan.
    Stir until sugar is dissolved.
    Bring to a boil until it reaches soft ball stage.
    Remove from fire and add butter and vanilla.
    Cool and wrap in wet cloth until hard enough to cut.
