Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 4 green tomatoes (medium size)
    3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1 egg, beaten
Preparation
    Slice tomatoes 1/2-inch thick.
    Dip first in egg; then in cornmeal, salt and pepper mixture.
    Fry in hot oil until browned on both sides.
