River Black Duck(Modern) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 black ducks
    1/4 lb. fat
    6 shallots
    5 carrots
    1/2 c. juniper berries
    wild cherries
Preparation
    Chop shallots and carrots.
    Brown ducks and shallots in a large frying pan until all blood is cooked.
    Pour some fat into roasting pan; add carrots, juniper
    and cherries.
    Place ducks on top of mixture and roast at 350\u00b0 for 3 hours,
    basting often.
