Natalie Wood'S Beef Stroganoff - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. boneless sirloin, cut in strips 2 inch long by 1/2 inch wide
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
    7 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. flour
    2 c. beef stock or canned diluted bouillon
    1 1/2 Tbsp. tomato paste
    4 Tbsp. sour cream
    1 c. thinly sliced white onion
    3 c. thinly sliced fresh mushrooms
    1/2 c. dry white wine (optional)
Preparation
    Season meat; let stand 2 hours in refrigerator.
