Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 1/2 c. sugar
    6 c. water
    16 c. orange juice or 2 large cans frozen juice (12 oz.) and 6 cans water
    4 large cans pineapple juice (46 oz.)
    2 or 3 (10 oz.) jars maraschino cherries
    6 qt. ginger ale
Preparation
    Make syrup by boiling sugar and 6 cups water for 10 minutes. Cool and add juice.
    Before serving, add ginger ale.
