Chicken Cacciatore - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. vegetable oil
    2 to 3 medium onions
    1 whole chicken, cut up
    1 large can tomato puree
    1 large can crushed tomatoes
    1 medium can peas
Preparation
    In large saucepan, pour oil.
    Add cut up onions and brown chicken in onions and oil for approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
    Add both cans of tomatoes along with a 1/2 can of water to each.
    Add whole can of peas.
    Add salt and pepper to taste, approximately 1 tablespoon of garlic powder and 2 or 3 dashes of oregano.
    Cook for approximately 1 hour.
    Serve over your favorite pasta.
