Favorite `Beef' Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1-1/2 lb. ground beef (add pork sausage)
    1 c. medium cracker crumbs
    2 beaten eggs
    1 8-oz. can (1 c.) seasoned tomato sauce
    1/2 c. finely chopped onion
    2 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
    1-1/2 tsp. salt
    1 medium bay leaf, crushed (seldom do this)
    Dash thyme
    Dash marjoram
    (I added 1/2 c. milk)
    Bit of oatmeal thrown in
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients, mix well.
    Shape mixture (juicy) in loaf in shallow baking dish.
    (I use bread pans.)
    Press 2 green pepper rings and onion rings atop meat loaf, if desired.
    Bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour.
