George Washington Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/4 c. flour
1 1/4 tsp. ginger
1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. molasses
3/4 c. melted shortening
1/2 tsp. soda
1 c. boiling water
Preparation

Sift together dry ingredients (except soda).
Add eggs, molasses and shortening.
Dissolve soda in boiling water.
Add slowly to other ingredients.
Batter will be thin.
Bake in 9 x 9-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
