Janssons Frestelse(Jansson'S Temptation) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 medium-size potatoes
    2 yellow onions
    little butter
    1 (approximately 125 g) tin filleted anchovies or 1 tin (approximately 55 g) pickled sardelles
    1/3 c. plus 2 Tbsp. thick cream
    bread crumbs
    1 to 2 Tbsp. butter
    3 Tbsp. thick cream
Preparation
    Peel potatoes and cut them into thin strips.
    Peel and thinly slice onions.
    Brown the onions and potatoes in a little butter. Alternate layers of potatoes/onions with anchovies or pickled sardelles in a buttered, ovenproof dish.
    The top layer should be potatoes.
    Pour 1/3 cup plus 3 tablespoons thick cream over the dish.
    You can mix the cream with some of the liquid in the tin if you like.
    Sprinkle some bread crumbs over.
    Dot with 1 to 2 tablespoons butter.
    Bake in a 400\u00b0 oven for approximately 40 minutes.
    Add 1/3 cup plus 3 tablespoons thick cream.
    Continue to bake for another 10 minutes until the potatoes are soft.
    Makes 4 servings.
