Lumberjacks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. dark molasses (I use Grandmother's molasses)
    2 eggs
    4 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add molasses and unbeaten eggs. Mix well.
    Sift dry ingredients together and stir into beaten ingredients and thoroughly mix.
    Put 1/4 cup of sugar in a small bowl.
    Pinch off a ball of dough the size of a walnut; roll into a ball and dip it into the sugar.
    Place on greased cookie sheet about 3 inches apart.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
    Makes 4 dozen large soft cookies.
    Great with cold milk!
