Dolie'S Buttermilk Rolls(Cir. 1890) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    1 3/4 c. buttermilk
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. fat (Crisco)
    4 1/4 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
    Scald buttermilk.
    Add sugar, salt, fat and soda.
    Cool to lukewarm and add yeast.
    Add enough flour to make a soft dough.
    Knead until smooth.
    Shape into rolls. Place on greased pan or a cookie sheet.
    Top with melted fat and cover.
    Let rise in warm place until they double in size.
    Bake in a heated oven at 425\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes until brown.
