Old Fashioned Syrup Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. syrup
    1 egg
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Cream shortening.
    Add syrup.
    Add egg.
    Beat until mixed well.
    Add flour and vanilla or nutmeg.
    Pour on floured sheet and roll out; cut or make small balls and press flat.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 15 minutes.
    Cook on greased cookie sheet.
