Red Waldorf Astoria Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. Spry or Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. cake flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. soda
1 oz. red food coloring
2 Tbsp. cocoa

Preparation

Mix vinegar with soda.
Mix a paste of 1 ounce red food coloring and cocoa (add enough water to make 1/4 cup).
Cream Spry, sugar and eggs (one at a time).
Add cocoa paste.
Add vanilla, flour and the salt with the buttermilk.
Add vinegar and soda.
Bake 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
