Asparagus Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen whole asparagus spears
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    few grains pepper
    2 Tbsp. butter, melted
    1 c. undiluted milk
    1/2 c. water
    4 sliced, hard-cooked eggs
    1/2 c. shredded process American cheese
    1/2 c. soft bread cubes
Preparation
    Cook asparagus according to package directions; drain well. Melt butter in saucepan over low heat.
    Stir in flour and seasonings.
    Slowly add milk and water.
    Cook until mixture thickens, stirring constantly.
    Arrange half of asparagus in buttered 2-quart baking dish.
    Place half of eggs, cheese and sauce over asparagus.
    Repeat layers.
    Combine butter and bread cubes; sprinkle over top of casserole.
    Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 20 minutes.
    Makes 6 servings.
