Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1/4 c. corn syrup
    1/2 c. evaporated milk
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Combine first 6 ingredients and boil slowly, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves.
    Continue cooking to 250\u00b0, stirring occasionally until a few drops of syrup form a hard ball when dropped in cold water.
    Add vanilla and chopped nuts.
    Pour into greased 8-inch square pan.
    When cool, cut into strips.
