Johnnie'S Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 lb. salt pork
    3 c. diced potatoes
    1 qt. boiling water
    1 medium chopped onion
    4 (7 1/2 oz.) cans clams
    1 qt. hot milk
    1/2 stick oleo or butter
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. thyme leaves
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    pinch of anise seed
Preparation
    Dice salt pork; cook until crisp.
    Remove pork and save.
    Add pork drippings, potatoes and chopped onion in deep pot with the boiling water.
    Cook until potatoes are tender, 12 to 15 minutes.
