Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 small can Angel flake coconut
    1 c. chopped pecans
    5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Cream margarine and shortening.
    Add sugar and mix until mixture is smooth.
    Add egg yolks and beat well.
    Combine flour and soda; add to the creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in the vanilla, coconut and pecans.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Pour batter in three 9-inch greased and floured pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Allow to cool 7 to 10 minutes and remove from pan.
    Frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.
