Strawberry Torte - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. Nabisco wafers
2 c. powdered sugar
3/4 c. butter
2 eggs, separated
1/2 c. nuts
1 qt. strawberries, drained
1/2 pt. whipped cream
Preparation

Crush wafers with rolling pin.
Put a layer of wafers at the bottom of a 13 x 9-inch pan. Save enough for top.
Cream the butter and powdered sugar well. Add egg yolks, one at a time; beat well.
Fold in beaten stiff egg whites.
Place on top of crust. Place nuts on top of this mixture, then strawberries on top. Place whipped cream, beaten stiff, as next layer, then remaining wafer crumbs on top.
Chill in refrigerator 1 hour before serving.
