Beet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    beets (from the garden)
    2 c. brown sugar
    3 c. water
    2 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Cook beets until tender.
    Cold dip and slip skins.
    Slice if large beets are used.
    Cover beets with mixture.
    Boil for 5 minutes.
    Seal in hot jars.
