Southern Key Lime Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (9-inch) graham cracker crust
    3 eggs, separated
    1/2 c. lime juice
    1 1/4 (14 oz.) cans condensed sweetened milk
    1 tsp. grated lime rind
    green food coloring (optional)
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    lime slices
Preparation
    Prepare graham cracker crust or use ready made.
    Beat egg yolks until light yellow.
    Gradually beat in lime juice.
    Stir in milk and lime rind until well blended.
    Add green food coloring. Pour mixture into prepared crust.
    Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
    Spread over pie.
    Brown meringue at 325\u00b0 for about 5 minutes or until light brown.
    Cover and refrigerate overnight.
    Garnish with lime slices before serving.
