Jumbo Raisin Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. water
2 c. raisins
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. allspice

Preparation

Boil water and raisins for 5 minutes.
Cool, then add vanilla and set aside.
Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs and blend. Stir in dry ingredients, then add raisin mixture.
Blend well, chill dough and drop on greased baking sheet.
Bake in 400\u00b0 oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
