Merry Cherry Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
1 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. coarsely chopped cherries
1/3 c. coarsely chopped green M&M's plain chocolate candies
1 c. sifted powdered sugar
5 tsp. warm water

Preparation

One 16 ounce package of M&M's yields about 1/2 cup green candies.
