Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 frying chicken
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1 bay leaf
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    2 Tbsp. minced parsley
    2 qt. water
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, chopped
    dumplings
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 stick oleo
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Cover chicken with water; add all other ingredients, except for dumplings, and cook until chicken is tender.
    Strain stock and discard vegetables.
    Remove chicken from bones and add back to stock.
    Make dumplings by mixing flour, butter and milk.
    Drop by teaspoonfuls into boiling chicken stock.
    Cook until dumplings are done.
    Adjust taste with salt and pepper.
    Thicken with flour and milk.
