Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. water
    2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/8 c. margarine
    10 to 12 apples
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Heat water, sugar, spices and margarine in pan until sugar dissolves and margarine melts.
    Sift flour, salt and baking powder together.
    Stir in milk and shortening.
    Cut dough into 12 equal pieces.
    Roll out dough for 12 dumplings.
    Place in small aluminum pie tin.
    Fill with apples that are peeled and cut into small chunks.
    Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and dot with butter.
    Pinch top together and pour syrup over dumplings.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
