Firecracker Corn Sticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. self-rising corn meal
    2 tsp. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 c. butter or mayonnaise, melted
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Combine dry ingredients; mix well.
    Add remaining ingredients and stir until batter is smooth.
    Place 2 well-greased cast-iron corn stick pans in a 450\u00b0 oven for 5 minutes.
    Remove pans from oven.
    Spoon batter into pans, filling 2/3 full.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes or until browned.
    Yields 14 corn sticks.
