Cucumber Raita - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 medium cucumbers, peeled and sliced thinly
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. cumin (fried and ground) or powder
    1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
    10 oz. plain yogurt
Preparation
    Slice the cucumbers; sprinkle 1 teaspoon salt and let them sit for 15 minutes.
    In another bowl, mix 10 ounces unflavored plain yogurt, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cumin and the 1/2 medium sized onion.
    Whip the yogurt mixture with a spoon.
    Add the cucumbers and chill.
    Garnish with 2 tablespoons finely chopped cilantro leaves.
