Scripture Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 Kings 4:22 (4 c. flour)
Leviticus 2:13 (1/2 tsp. salt)
1 Kings 10:10 (1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. cloves, 1/2 tsp. mace)
Judges 5:25 (1 c. butter or other shortening)
Jeremiah 6:20 (2 1/2 c. sugar)
Isaiah 10:14 (6 eggs, unbeaten)
1 Samuel 14:25 (4 Tbsp. honey)
Numbers 17:8 (1 c. finely chopped almonds)
1 Samuel 30:12 (2 c. finely chopped raisins)
Nahum 3:12 (2 c. finely chopped figs)
Genesis 24:17 (1/2 c. water)
Preparation

Sift flour, salt and spices together 3 times.
Cream butter; add sugar gradually and cream until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each.
Add honey, almonds, raisins and figs and mix well.
Add flour, alternately with water, a small amount at a time, beating well after each addition.
Turn into 2 greased 9 x 4 x 2 1/2-inch pans (loaf) which have been greased, lined with paper and greased again.
Bake in 350\u00b0 oven about 2 1/2 hours.
