Ingredients

1 qt. strawberries
1/2 c. water
3/4 c. cold water
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 1/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. cornstarch
1/8 tsp. salt
red food coloring
Preparation

Bring to a boil the sugar and water.
Dissolve cornstarch in 3/4 cup water; add to syrup mixture.
Cook about 10 minutes until clear.
Stir to keep from lumping.
Blend in salt, lemon juice and coloring; cool.
Pour over berries.
Put in baked pie crust.
Top with whipped cream.
