Spicy Chocolate Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. unsifted flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ground cloves
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    2 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces (12 oz. pkg.)
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugars until fluffy.
    Beat in eggs, one at a time.
    Add vanilla.
    Blend in dry ingredients, add chocolate pieces or reserve chocolate and sprinkle over dough before baking. Spread into 2 ungreased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch pans or 3 (13 x 9 x 2-inch) pans.
    Bake in oven at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Cut into 80 bars and cool.
